My decision to work with SCI was led by the mission of the organization that I have witnessed during my involvement in the senior community in Savannah. In my life I have become focused on the goodness of those who serve with a happy heart and are truly committed to serving others as they would like to be served. SCI is well known for this level of care and I am happy to be a part of it. Always serve with a happy heart!

What an honor to be part of SCI! In my 40-plus years of nursing I have never worked for a greater company. The love and care they give is like no other I have ever seen or been a part of. They are always dependable, having every recourse available for people in need, including their families, right down to their pets. What they give to our seniors is beyond words.

The Senior Companion Program is near and dear to my heart. It is a very successful program serving two senior populations. Passion and a service spirit have guided me throughout my career. Having the opportunity to serve at SCI provides a platform to positively share my passion and put to use my experience to serve our aging population in Savannah and our neighboring communities. Sustenance is necessary and our Meals on Wheels program provides a wonderful solution for many who are looking for a wholesome alternative to cooking. Here’s to “cooking for you!”
Director, Thunderbolt Neighborhood Center
Hometown: Tulsa, Oklahoma
My love for seniors is probably due to the close relationship I had with my grandmother. My hope is to continue to learn from our seniors, listen to their concerns, sorrows and joys. I hope to be an inspiration to them as so many have been to me.
Director, The Learning Center
Hometown: Savannah, Georgia
Education: Armstrong State University, Georgia Southern University
When people over the age of 55 in Savannah expressed a desire for academically rigorous educational programming to enrich their retirement years, I was pleased to join SCI to establish The Learning Center. TLC is a place where the humanities come to life through courses, lectures, special learning programs, and educational travel. TLC has become an extended family of learners where each member benefits from the rich life experiences and knowledge of the others, and all enjoy the friendships that result from common encounters in the classroom.
Director, Liberty County Adult Daytime Care Center
Hometown: Jesup, Georgia
Education: College of Coastal Georgia School of Nursing, Altamaha Technical College
I was born to parents who are from the WWII era so I have always been around older people. The baby-boomer generation has always held a special place in my heart. We owe them the dignity and respect that they earned by paving the way to the life that we live today. I can see that SCI is a place that holds the same values that I do about seniors. As soon as I visited, I knew that this was the place for me.
